5 Months!

A new year is here! I've never been huge into making resolutions, but this year I decided to give it a try. Jesse and I made resolutions together and we made some individually. Together we have resolved to read through the Bible in it's entirety this year. We have also resolved to eat healthier. Individually I have decided to blog more, exercise more, listen to Christian music more often, and to serve my family more. A lot of my time is devoted to myself and I have come to the conviction that my time is no longer my own and I need to serve my family through cleaning or cooking whatever it may be. Being a wife and mother has been such an honor and a privileged. There is no greater joy than to see a huge beaming smile on my daughters face.  The Lord has really been showing me through His word that I need to be a servant. I am honored to serve my daughter and sweet husband. I am excited for another year for my family to grow together in serving each other and spending time together.

Attitude of Grattitude

 "What if you woke up today with only the things you thanked God for yesterday?"

I saw this quote and it made me think how often/how little I count my blessings. So many things happen in one day that are overlooked. For example -- this morning I woke up, got Norah out of bed, had breakfast and started the coffee for my husband. In that small span of  time I had so many things to be thankful for but I'm not sure that I have ever thanked the Lord for a morning routine. Not only for a morning routine, but for a healthy baby and husband; for food in the cupboard to have breakfast and the sunshine that greets every morning. November is a wonderful month to reflect on the things that you're grateful for. In scripture we are reminded to give thanks every day, "This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it (Psalm 118:24)" "give thanks in all circumstances (1 Thessalonians 5:18)." I have to confess that I'm not always thankful when I get little sleep, there's a pile of laundry to be done, and my head is pounding from a head cold, but the Lord has given me a perspective that can rise above any life circumstance (no matter how high the pile of laundry may be). That perspective is only attainable through His Spirit and understandable through His Word.

I am so thankful for what the Lord is doing in my life. I have a loving husband, a sweet baby, an amazing apartment, a vehicle, a wonderful church, great friends... the list could go on! The greatest blessing in my life is my relationship with the Lord. It is only by His grace and truth that I can make it through each day. The help I receive from the Lord each day could fill hundreds of books. I'm grateful that Thanksgiving helps me reflect on the blessings that I too often overlook.

Fun with the Fullans

The past couple of months have been very fun-- full of surprises! Norah has been growing by leaps and bounds. Her checkups have been great! She's in the 95th percentile for everything except for her length; she's off the charts in that area (she gets that from her father). We have been very busy as usual and Norah has been keeping up pretty well -- getting adjusted to Mom and Dad's busy lifestyle. She doesn't mind being on the go and she actually likes road trips (a true Fullan). We took our first trip to Wabasha and she did great! She adjusted well and enjoyed meeting her extended family. I have recently found out that she likes bath time and absolutely loves her changing table!
