The race!

March has been a beautiful month so far. I am really enjoying being outside and taking walks with my little family.  Spring is always such a refreshing season. Norah has been growing up by leaps and bounds! I think this month has been the one of the funnest months in seeing her change. She is now more interactive with Jesse and I. She laughs with us and loves to make us laugh. She loves to smile and go on walks! She kicks her legs, waves her arms and sings on the top of her lungs. =] A wonderful experience as a parent. Her newest milestones this month so far would be sitting up, playing bashful, stranger anxiety, singing and talking like crazy, she can now say "mama" finally!! and she has started to crawl! I cannot believe my little infant is now crawling. She is the sweetest little girl and I am so excited to start his new, faster paced, chapter!

Jesse and I were having lunch one day and got on the topic of running the mile. He told me that he could, without a doubt, run the mile in 6 minutes flat... maybe 6.30 at the most. I thought there was no way that he would be able to do this. SO we decided to go to the industrial park that has a sidewalk around a small pond that is just a little under a mile long.  I was pretty excited to see this little bet take place.

The Best Month

I cannot believe it's March already! This blog post is not about the month of march, however. I have come to the conclusion that February is the best month of the year. Why you ask? For many reasons, really: my sweet little sister's birthday, my cousin Dusty's birthday, my cousin Brock's birthday, my brother in law Aaron's birthday, my very own birthday =D and St. Valentine's Day. As you can tell, there is a lot of celebrating to be had in the month of February. And in the month of February sweet Norah turned 6 months old!
Our good friend, Josh, took some amazing pictures for us. Norah, however would not cooperate very well. She did not want to smile or look at the camera, but Josh worked his magic and they turned out great!
For my birthday we had a really fun get together with our close friends, Sean and Ana Lucia. We had sweet fellowship with them and played some games. Later in the week Jim and Debe came to Dubuque and we all went out to the Olive Garden for a birthday dinner. Afterwards we came back to our apartment and had some birthday cake. It was soo delicious!
For Valentine's day Aaron and Tab came over for dinner. Jesse and Aaron made spaghetti and set the table very fancily.
My sweet husband gave me a wonderful valentine's day gift. I couldn't have asked for anything better.

2012

5 Months!
A new year is here! I've never been huge into making resolutions, but this year I decided to give it a try. Jesse and I made resolutions together and we made some individually. Together we have resolved to read through the Bible in it's entirety this year. We have also resolved to eat healthier. Individually I have decided to blog more, exercise more, listen to Christian music more often, and to serve my family more. A lot of my time is devoted to myself and I have come to the conviction that my time is no longer my own and I need to serve my family through cleaning or cooking whatever it may be. Being a wife and mother has been such an honor and a privileged. There is no greater joy than to see a huge beaming smile on my daughters face.  The Lord has really been showing me through His word that I need to be a servant. I am honored to serve my daughter and sweet husband. I am excited for another year for my family to grow together in serving each other and spending time together.
